Luck's sure been a lady!

I was supposed to leave for Mumbai today, and I can't believe what happened last night and still going on in Mumbai right now. People are saying oh it's so sad what's happening in Mumbai but honestly, right now, I don't feel sadness, I'm just angry. I can't feel anything else.

I canceled my tickets, travel guy told me I didn't cancel within the specified cancelable 24 hours, so no refund. Story of my life. I don't even care. At this point, I can choose to be difficult and sulk about not getting back my money, or just be happy and thankful that I am here alive and well.

I can't get over what a close shave it was. Our only plans for this Mumbai weekend was shopping and Cafe Leopold, so watching the news last night of Cafe Leopold's overturned chairs and tables and empty bullet shells, I just had to thank my lucky stars that I was just a day away from being there. I could've been one of the bodies they were wheeling away!

But enough of all this. All the world's talking about now is Mumbai, and pain, and killing, and I know good people in the world are praying for the victims. But if you feel like you need to taken away from all this, and to be reminded that despite all this ugliness, there is so much sweetness and beauty in this world that you never ever want to die, these pictures of Bozo will definitely do the trick for you :-)

There's certainly someone up there looking out for you, girl! Talk about a close shave, phew. Lovely Bozo, nice reminder of the goodness and innocence that's still an intrinsic part of this crazy world

Cafe Leopold and Cafe Mondegar are my regular haunts. :( Was there most recently at Gokul's, which is just behind Leopold's.

Canceling is a wise thing to do right now, but do try coming again. The fast life here is quite different from other places. Trust me, Mumbaikars will put all these behind them within a couple of days and it will be back to the usual grind. Am still stuck in office - dying to take a shower. Extremely angry at the people who took so many innocent lives away. X(

Thank God no Mizo lives were lost. Continuing to pray for all the victims...

I don't know what to say. I just read some updates and videos, and I'm shaking. I can begin to imagine the terror the hostages must be going through.

You have a lovely puppy. I'm a little afraid of dogs, though.

edit: "I can't begin to imagine"

aaargh! why does this always happen to me???

Three years in Mumbai. Though I'm not a Cafe regular. Evening stroll at Colaba Causeway is one of my fav. pastime. When I heard the news enroute yesterday.
Two things 1. Are my friends safe back there?
2. F**k those bastards back to their hole.

I vannei hle mai. Kei chu Aizawlah ka thu veng veng tawh a sin!

Thank God you weren't there! It was a dirty shock for all of us, even those not physically affected.

BTW, what exactly were you teaching that dog when the pic was taken?

Jerusha said...

mes - I know I feel so 'protected' right now, everytime I watch TV and I see Leopold's bloody floors, it makes me shiver!

Clay - nothing! Just how to pose gracefully :)
